Video: Public Speaking Tips - How to stand still when nervous
1st July 2011 by Rachel Willis 2 comments
This week, instead of giving you a series of presenting tips and tricks I thought I would focus on one of the key problems lots of us face – standing still!
I don’t mean standing still as a statue and not moving a muscle! I mean moving with purpose and not fidgeting, prowling back and forth or rocking on your feet.
It’s hard to stand still when you’re presenting, especially if you’re nervous. In this video are some tips that will hopefully help you to stand still and avoid fidgeting when you next present in front of an audience. I hope you find them helpful. If you would like any further information, please do give me a call.

I look forward to watching your other 'how to' inspired videos.
Thank you for your comment and also for your comments on YouTube!
I totally agree with you. Any form of presenting is tough and when it is done well people make it look effortless when it is really anything but! Some of the jump cut editing in the "charlieissocool" blogs on YouTube is a really nice example of how to split a vblog into section but keep it flowing well.
A lot of people recording their videos in our studio run out of breath towards the end as they rush to get it done!
We are hoping to release a "how to" video every week from now on and I hope you enjoy them. If you can think of a topic you would like us to cover please do let me know and I will include it in our next video.
